SA's premium wines secure a showcase in France at La Cité du Vin

8 August, 2023

South Australian premium wines will be showcased in one of the world's most prestigious and well-known wine destinations, Bordeaux, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its wine museum, La Cité du Vin during a visit by Primary Industries Minister Clare Scriven.

The new MOU will make South Australian premium wine available for tastings at La Cité du Vin, a wine museum and cultural icon in Bordeaux, France. South Australian winemakers can work with the museum, which attracts almost 500,000 visitors a year, to hold events and masterclasses.

The opportunity to link with La Cité du Vin is a result of Adelaide and South Australia's membership of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network (GWCGN).

The visit to La Cité du Vin by Minister Scriven was marked with tastings from South Australian premium wine producer, Penfolds.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regions will put the call out to South Australian winemakers via regional wine associations to ensure South Australian wines are available for ongoing La Cité du Vin tastings. Wine makers from all regions will have the opportunity to participate.
