28 March, 2025

Got an innovative research idea that could shape the future of wine tourism?

Applications are now open for talented researchers keen to explore excellence and innovation in wine tourism.

The Great Wine Capitals (GWC) International Research Grant is an opportunity to advance academic knowledge and champion its practical application in the wine tourism industry in South Australia and globally.

The grant awards €7,500 each to two recipients, along with up to €2,000 in travel support to present their findings at the 2026 GWC Annual General Meeting (AGM) Conference. Winners also gain opportunities to participate in industry webinars, sharing their expertise with professionals worldwide.

Dr. Armando Maria Corsi, Associate Professor of Wine Business at Adelaide Business School and Coordinator of the International Research Grant Project at GWC, says: "Innovation is essential for the growth of wine tourism. The GWC International Research Grant supports projects that offer real-world solutions, benefiting not only researchers but also businesses, policymakers, and visitors across our global network."

In 2024/25 one of the two grants was awarded to Dr. Jessica Mei Pung of the University of South Australia to explore how agritourism can enhance and diversify wine tourism experiences.
