Clare Valley has it all

3 February, 2017

Pikes Wines has long been regarded as one of the Clare Valley’s premier wine brands.

Having evolved to include a range of beers, Pikes & Joyce, and a brewery, the Pike family are now building a $1.57m visitor centre, featuring a 70-seat restaurant, provedore, new cellar door and private wine room at their Polish Hill River Estate.

This redevelopment comes at a time when Riesling – the Clare Valley’s signature variety – is experiencing a reconnaissance, with the grape variety making a comeback on the popularity trail. So too is the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend, which has now stablished itself as an iconic regional celebration that attracts hordes of revellers keen to sample local new and rare release wines amongst country hospitality annually in May.

With the Valley just a daytrip from Adelaide, it’s easy to see why this region is on everyone’s hit list.
